CECI
MORALES-ENRIQUEZ

Hi, I’m Ceci (seh-SEE) — short for Cecilia.

I’m a multidisciplinary designer and art director based in Detroit, MI, originally from Mexico. My work is driven by storytelling, experimentation, and bold visual thinking, shaped by a lifelong love of creating.

I’m currently earning a BFA in Communication Design & Strategy with a minor in Photography at the College for Creative Studies. I’m most passionate about advertising, photography, motion, and branding. I hope to create impactful ad campaigns that resonate and stick with every person who comes into contact with them. My process is focused on experimentation and storytelling, always continuing to ideate and play.

When I am not designing, you will find me searching through every aisle at the thrift store for my next statement piece, collecting trinkets, or waiting for the next karaoke night out with my friends.

04 CECI’S DESIGN ARCHIVE
Publication

Winter 2025Developed through multiple design archive searches, this collection of cards/books was developed to showcase my preferences and taste in design. The objective was to collect 75 different pieces that I liked and found through online design websites and organize each piece accordingly. For this project, the more items collected, the clearer the vision became in life. My archive was first separated into different categories, which included: color, size, and era. After carefully looking through each category, the decision was made that the archive would be separated into decades. However, the problem emerged after the fact that I realized most of the designs I liked gravitate towards post-modernism and 2000’s making the sections not evenly spread. At this same time, I began to have problems identifying how the cards were meant to be displayed within the book. Because of all this, the decision was made to go back to the drawing board and come up with a better system and organization method. Having collected different ephemera to collage on my wall for years, the reflection of that yearned to be in this archive. So I decided to separate my collection based on different ephemera and from the most liked to the least liked piece in each category. So the categories became: Posters, Publications, and Miscellaneous Ephemera. On the front of each card, a big picture is presented so that the person with this archive can decide to put it on their wall, and on the back, information about how this piece makes me feel and think, alongside my rating, is displayed. Alongside this, each card has two holepunched circles at the top so that all cards can become connected through yarn or pinned on a wall without being ruined. Overall, this project helped create a design strategy, organization, larger typography in a system, knowledge, and book designing practice.
